Himachal Pradesh Tourism Department modifies SOP for tourist coming into State by train or by air

The Himachal Pradesh Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation on August 26, 2020 amended the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for tourist coming into State by train or by air. Considering the present situation of Covid-19, the Department has modified the guidelines to some extent.

The modified guidelines are as follows:

• The minimum duration of stay required for any tourist entering Himachal is now two nights spread over multiple locations.

• The intending tourist may get Trunaat/CB Naat Test (negative) report in alternative to RT-PCR test but still from a accredited laboratory within a period of 96 hours till the state border.

• The IT Department should modify the e-pass software to generate a consolidated list of applications under “Tourist” category. The District Administration shall scrutinize the uploaded documents within a period of 24 hours of the submission of the applications and give their opinion, else it will be deemed to be approved and the software should automatically forward the approval to the applicant immediately thereafter.

•The driver dropping the guests will be exempted from quarantine.
