The Registrar of Companies (ROC),Himachal Pradesh on September 08, 2020 has issued an order for the extension of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the financial year ended on March 31, 2020. Section 96 (1) of the Companies Act, 2013 states that the registrar may extend the time within which any annual general meeting may be held, other than the first annual general meeting, shall be held by a period not exceeding three months.

Further, various stakeholders of different companies are of the view that it is difficult to hold an AGM for the financial year ended on March 31, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, the board has agreed to extend the timeline for holding an AGM. The extension has been given to companies for three months from the due date of holding the AGM. All the companies seeking such extension shall file form GNL-1. The extension shall also cover all the applications that were pending for approval or were rejected.
